All modern jets with Russian engines can do that including J-20. Plus MiG-35 even if it's without trust vectoring in series production. Are very dangerous due to its ability to turn sharp despite having a wing capable of sustained turn.

This allows the plane to be able to control past its stalling point otherwise known as super maneuverability. US has actually developed this technology before the USSR did I mean look at the x-31 and the f/a-18 Harv.

Believe it or not, they did a lot of research and consulted real-life Top Gun pilots, when designing the dog fights in the movie. The maneuvers that Maverick is using in the Tomcat, during the dog fight against the Su-57, are based on suggestions of real life pilots on how they would try to fight a 5th gen jet. People say: "There´s no way an older jet like the Tomcat could defeat a modern Su-57...." which is true on paper, but they ignore that actual dog fighting hasn´t been done in decades and also that the experience of a pilot plays a big part in this. The movie actually adresses this, that nobody has done a proper dog fight in ages and therefore lack the expertise for it.
I saw one of these things do a flat spin 180° over the sawmill I worked at plus the surrounding fields, I thought he was going down but he came out of it amazingly - July 1998 over Souder/Almartha area in Missouri. Then have seen flips & barrel rolls galore since then in same area - these things are intense with the right pilots at the stick.
Sure, it looks cool, but more importantly, it's really considerate for aircraft to dump all that energy so they can give pursuing aircraft a nice, stable shot.

It's all fun and games till you realize those maneuvers turn the plane into one big air brake, killing off your most important resource in a dogfight, that being airspeed
Tell that to the J35 Draken pilots who used this on regular basis during the 60:s and 70:s when they conducted aerialcombattraining. You should also speak to those Su15 pilots that flew over the Baltic sea and who encountered those J35:s. On several occations those Su15:s found Them selfes to be the hunted when the J35:s did the "kort parad" against them

The one shown by the SU-35 in this clip makes the aircraft come to an almost complete standstill, and lose all of its airspeed and hence its ability to take evasive action for several seconds. It’s an aerobatic display and nothing else. The one used by Draken pilots (and popularised by the Su-27 cobra manoeuvre later on) means the aircraft retains a significant airspeed and and can therefore still manoeuvre both offensively and defensively. Two different scenarios really.
These are amazing aerobatic maneuvers the only problem is have with the use of them in combat sequences of movies video games etc is that the flight conditions required to execute such a maneuver are such that you will be quite the easy target for any half way competent adversary, and I’m talking guns only not to even delve into the capabilities of aams. Still badass though
I like you peacefull comment. The Cobra manouver has been known for several years. Also siden with the old Swedish Saab Draken with no computerized controls. Maybe not as Advanced as this one. It is spectacular and requires a skilled pilot. But probably not so usefull in Combat unless in a real Dogfight. The manouver in combination with this huge fighter Aircraft makes it impressive.
These maneuvers are really epic but more simple versions are used in combat Sims, as these guys kill your agility and any possibility for following evasion maneuvers
It's a awesome maneuver but the recovery and the acceleration it's very slow so if there was two Jets against one. the other jet or the wingman would have got him because he had a lot of drawback speed
